Diploma (Final Sem)

Salam and hi! 

My first blog ever but it's 2022 do people do blogs? idk let's just wing it. 

Okay first of all, saya Arfa, a diploma student in UiTM Tapah course Applied Science. As a final semester student kan, mesti lah dah kena ada plan kan untuk our next step. Masalahnya, saya masih ragu-ragu nak pilih jurusan apa untuk sambung degree nanti 😭 Padahal kan saya dah daftar untuk penerapan nanti tau haiyaaa

At first saya dalam dilema nak sambung degree atau terus kerja. Tapi saya takut kalau saya menyesal sebab saya tak pernah kerja. Dari darjah satu sampai sekarang ni asyik belajar je. Takut nak keluar dari comfort zone. Tapi, pada saya, better saya sambung belajar sebab saya masih mampu. Orang kata kalau dah kerja, nanti giat nak sambung belajar sebab dah selesa 'pegang duit'. Orang kata lah bukan saya yang kata hehehe.

Okay dah lepas satu dilema. Sekarang ni dilemanya, nak sambung jurusan apa 😭 Waktu saya form 4, saya ambil aliran sains sebab cita-cita saya dulu nak jadi doktor. Nampak macam cliche tapi itulah tu memang cliche pun. Sepatutnya saya specify nak jadi doktor apa, kan? Entah lah. Waktu sekolah dulu cita-cita tu macam tak penting sangat. Saya cuma nak survive untuk tahun terakhir di sekolah. Sebab fikir nak survive tu lah yang buat result SPM saya cukup-cukup makan. Saya ambil 12 subjek, yang A nya cuma 6 subjek. The rest is macam nasi campur. 

Despite result SPM yang tak cun tu, saya masih ada jodoh dengan science stream! Saya dapat Applied Science yang basically belajar chm, bio, phy macam kat sekolah cuma lebih detail. Ada calculus juga 😭 Don't bother ask why the crying emoji there. Setiap orang mesti ada subjek yang dia tak suka kannn tapi saya suka je calculus (kalau saya fully understand how to applicate the formula lah). Saya sebenarnya ada je chance nak jadi doktor dengan diploma applied scince ni. Tu pun kalau CGPA saya 3.8 ke atas. Tapi adakah saya menepati the requirement? Semestinya tidak jadi saya kena kuburkan cita-cita saya nak jadi doktor tu dalam-dalam sebab macam dah lesap je peluangnya. Jadi di sini lah dilema saya bermula.

At first kan saya macam nak ambil Law as my bachelor degree. Why you may ask because it seems fun and stressful. Have you seen law students? Yes they are the definition of crazy. Kena hafal itu ini and the debate skills have to reach level langit ketujuh or there's no point of studying law. The irony about this course and me is i dont like debating. So like no point even though niat asal saya nak tukar bidang. 

Saya ada plan juga nak ambil course pharmacy. But unless you ada diploma in pharmacy or result SPM you untuk subjek kimia, bio, fizik and add math okay, baru you boleh berangan daftar course. Saya tahu tak salah kalau cuba daftar tapi kan the requirement was stated tau so I rather admit that I am not suitable for that course than expecting the rejection later. 

Waktu sem 4 tu, saya plan nak sambung degree in analysis forensic kat Uitm. Apa yang saya tahu pasal analysis forensic ni, you will deal with chemicals. Not the corpses or anything. Sebabkan, analysis forensic ni sebenarnya a small cabang from chemistry. I love biology the most but i find chemistry is quite challenging for me. Physic? I can deal with it but let just say I have no interest at all in physic. So, i might choose Analysis Forensic sebab it fits my interest and it challenges me. 

However, I also want to go to UM. Kat UM ada course biochemistry which again, fits my interest and challenges me. Both Analysis Forensic and Biochemistry ada pilihan kerjaya yang saya nak cumanya saya tak pasti if I can meet the requirement for UM or not. I am 50/50 about this one sebab the sole reason why I want to be in UM is because the ranking. Is it a bad idea? idek

Sekarang ni saya baru apply penerapan lah kiranya. If you dont know, penerapan ni adalah salah satu laluan untuk graduan diploma dari uitm ke degree di uitm dengan lebih mudah. Faham tak? Macam saya, saya ambil diploma in applied science di UiTM, jadi saya boleh mohon penerapan untuk  degree di UiTM juga. Boleh pilih 3 course yang kita minat, pastu tunggu lah result macam UPU tu. Untuk penerapan, saya pilih course analysis forensic, chemical engineering dan biomolekul. Andaikata saya dapat analysis forensic kan, boleh lah saya apply pemotongan credit. Which means, if course tu berdurasi selama 3 tahun, mungkin saya kena belajar 2 and a half year je.
